I have read and heard so much about the Crucible, but no one really talks about it in detail. I know it's the last 54 hours of boot and it's a ten mile hike (correct me if I am wrong! That's why I'm asking). But I really want to know what it is for sure. What is involved? What do you do? I know if you make it, they give you the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. Curious as to what I'm getting myself into. :) Thanks!
it's going to be a hike followed by some physical and mental exercises. followed by another hike, followed by some physical and mental exercises. followed by another hike.
might be another hike or two in there.
well, you know, "conditioning march" or whatnot.
it's pretty tough, of course, but mostly at the end. gotta make sure you hydrate right and eat properly. i did neither of those things and paid for it.
you might be able to drink some gatorade during the crucible, now. that'll definitely help. i cramped like crazy.
man... I see why they call it the crucible. thanks for the tip. :)
the crucible..its very long and a very hard hike!!...so basically what the crucible is a long hike with obstical courses...and at the begining of each obsticl course there is something u read about a fallen marine and than there is an objective u MUST finifh!!...like take this as an example...
"U MUST CLIMB THE LADDER WITHOUT TOUCHING THE RED MARKERS on THE LADDER. IF YOU TOUCH THE RED U ARE DEAD AND U MUST DO AN EMERGANCY EVACTUATION"
so durning basic training u'll learn how to do an emergancy evacuation..and stuff liek that!!
so in order to pass onto the next obsticle u must finish and complete that...obsticle!!
well i hope i helpded u and of curse its more difficult than i word it take it from me i've seen the crucible with my own eyes!!if u need ne help or questionas about the marine corps u can get at me...!!i dont come on here a lot so u can get at my on my myspace, if u have one, look for me email@example.com
sorry if there is a lot of typos!!
O_O crazy... Oddly enough, I'm stoked. I want to go NOW
! Then again, I probably wouldn't be saying that if I had any sense about me.
I thank you for the information. I feel so strange because I feel like I'm the only person trying to research as much information about what I'm getting into, not only what I have to do and know, but other strange information. I'm getting my hands on anything that says "Marines".
Thank you again and they typos weren't that bad! LOL
I'll find you on myspace. :)
